Spanish I

The students are given oral and written exercises on topics taken from daily life, social and formal situations, newspapers, TV stations and films. Grammar and communicative skills are presented through lectures and communicative exercises. Introduction to Spanish culture and civilization.

Passed mandatory exercise is valid for later continuation exams.

Knowledge:
- to be able to use appropriate vocabulary and grammar in written texts
- to be able to describe aspects of the Spanish speaking culture
- to master the usage of some verb tenses
- to be able to communicate and be understood both in writing and speaking
-to be able to understand messages from newspapers, internet, TV, films and conversations at a basic level 

Skills:
- to be able to participate in informal conversations on general topics
- to be able to give simple oral presentations 

Competence:
- to be abe to express emotions, points of view and opinions on general matters

Pedagogiske metoder:
Individual and group presentations, traditional and CD-based methods, virtual methods, self instruction, films and lectures.      

Obligatoriske arbeidskrav:
Three to five exercises must be submitted and passed in addition to an 80% class attendance in order for students to sit for the final exam.

Previously approved mandatory assignments do not need to be handed in again for later exams.
