Archaeology in Modern Society

The course comprises themes such as relationships between ethnicity and identity, politics, globalization and ownership of the past. Also stressed is the importance of the theory of knowledge and exercise of judgement in cultural heritage management and museum options. The course also encompasses the relationship between research - management - dissemination of knowledge.

To give insight into relationships and processes through which archaeology meets society as a whole (the concept of "public archaeology").
