Achieve further knowledge of a chosen topic, with emphasis on research methods and theoretical issues specific for the period or topic, and how these legitimize choice of empirical data and methods.

According to the course curriculum, a candidate who passes this course is expected to have the following learning outcome (defined as knowledge and skills)

Knowledge:
The candidate has attained
- advanced knowledge of a specialised topic and relevant methods

Skills:
The candidate has acquired skills to
- utilize knowledge and methods in his/her work on the master thesis, and also in his/her future work as an archaeologists

Lectures where common and general aspects are given attention.
The exam consist of a written assignment of maximum 6000 words.
