Common Literary Syllabus - Literature before 1800

The course consists of literary texts prior to 1800. The curriculum consists of about ten works, minimum three theoretical and minimum five fictional. The course instruction will be in collaboration with ALIT2202.

Candidates will have obtained the following general competency after successfully completing the course ALIT3302:

The candidate:

- has specialized knowledge on a limited or specialized topic from the Antiquity till 1800

- has the ability to reflect critically and independently on literature in a more significant aesthetic, historical, social and cultural context

- has the ability to present the academic content of the course on a higher academic level both orally and in writing

- can formulate a research problem and write a more substantial academic text

Lectures and seminars. Active student participation is expected.

1-3 compulsory requirements: Approved written and/or oral assignment(s) and/or test(s) (determined by lecturer).
