Radio-Immunological Measuring Techniques (RIA)

The course provides an introduction to the construction-, function- and use of gamma- and beta counters. Particular emphasis will be given to radiation hygiene and existing rules for use of radioactive nuclides in laboratory. Laboratory work also include blood sampling from salmonid fish and the use of RIA for measurement of plasma cortisol levels.

On completion of the course the students should be familiar with the construction-, function- and use of gamma- and beta counters, and also with radiation hygiene and existing rules for the use of radioactive nuclides in laboratory.

Lectures: 30 hours
Laboratory course: 30 hours, mandatory
