Content

- Budgeting process and types of budget.
- Cash flows and appraisal techniques for investment and financial projects.
- Performance measurement methods for decision making.

Overlapping:The following courses give credit reduction:
- AE201306 Cost accounting and budgeting, or equivalent : 3,5 ETCS
- AE201106 Corporate finance or equivalent: 2,5 ETCS

Learning outcomes

Knowledge:
- have good insight into the budgeting process
- have knowledge of different budgeting models and types of budgets
- have knowledge of relevant cash flows for investment and financial decisions
- have knowledge of performance measurement methods for investment and financial decisions

Ferdigheter:
- be able to work out different types of budgets, including master budget, and perform a variance analysis
- be able to work out relevant cash flows and appraisal techniques for different investment and finance decisions
- be able to analyse the performance of investment projects
- be able to calculate interest rates for financial projects
 
Kompetanse:
- be able to up-date their knowledge within the above mentioned areas
- be able to comprehend general knowledge in the relevant field

Teaching methods

Pedagogiske metoder:

Lectures and exercises.

Obligatoriske arbeidskrav:

One compulsory paper must be handed in for assessment. This paper must achieve a pass in order for the candidate to take the first ordinary exam. Passed mandatory exercise is valid for later continuation exams. ICT tools are to be used in the preparation of this paper.
