About this course
Content
The course will give an introduction to theoretical perspectives on housing architecture and housing cultures. Premises for modern housing production and the strategic role of housing in societal development will be discussed. The course will also give increased knowledge in writing an academic text.
Learning outcomes
KNOWLEDGE The candidate has knowledge about key discussions related to the architectural development of housing environments and the societal conditions for housing development. SKILLS The candidate has - the ability to navigate, use and critically discuss theories and research relevant for housing architecture, - the ability to write an academic text. GENERAL COMPETENCE The candidate - has a general understanding of the role of housing in society, - can reflect critically on the role of architecture and the architectural profession in housing development.
Teaching methods
The course will consist of reading and discussions of texts, casestudies, lectures and seminars. In addition to small assignments, each student will write an academic essay.
