Architectural design med focus on synthesis skills of following aspects.
URBAN DESIGN:
Contextual analyses and master plan evaluation.
Application of given context
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN:
Architectural space and room typology. Sculptural building composition. Programming, functionality, idea and concept. Structural elements and building parts. Materiality, scale and modules.
Ethics, environment and resources
Building regulations, fire and security precaution. Project and design management. Digital and conventional design tools. Architectural presentation.
TECHNOLOGY:
Building structures and construction, building materials. Technical infrastructure/air, water, lighting, heating and acoustical environment.
FORM AND COLOUR:
Colours and materials in architecture. Project presentation and visual communication.

URBAN DESIGN: 15% ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN: 45% TECHNOLOGY: 30% FORM AND COLOUR: 10%

Knowledge

The candidate has ...
- basic knowledge of urban form, large buildings and organizational principles in buildings .
- basic knowledge of building typologies and relevant reference projects.
- basic understanding of how large buildings, urban design and planning relate to each other in a European and Nordic urban context.
- basic understanding of the dialectic relationship of use and design of cities and buildings .
- basic understanding of architectural design.

Skills

Candidates ...

- can create architecture at a basic level through artistic and scientific research, idea development and architecture design with focus on large buildings in a urban context.
- master the subject's methods, tools and expressions of the subject at a basic level and apply these in architectural design in aexploratory and experimental manner.
- can apply basic knowledge of the subject's natural, social, cultural and technological conditions in architecture design .
- can apply basic aesthetic, physical and ethical experience in architectural design.
- can produce architectural drawings and projects in 3 D DAK at a basic level .

General competence

- can present own architectural work in the form of drawings, Description r and models at an almost professional and academic level.

- have skills in digital workflow and relevant applications for editing vector graphics and desktop publishing with a professional publishable result .

Lectures, seminars and workshops, parallell with the students own sketching on and developing their concept. The teaching are mainly groupwise and individual tutoring with public asessments at the different stages of the project
