• Freehand drawing with observation as a starting point with a wide range of methods and techniques.

• Drawing as a method of building a socially sustainable learning atmosphere

Knowledge: The students must have acquired basic knowledge of the various aspects of analog drawing, digital / hybrid drawing techniques, as well as mixed media as a method for expression in the creative processes. The student will also have some knowledge of what the work with form entails in terms of aesthetics. The student will acquire analytical view of composition with the intent to translate this into design processes further in the study.

Skills: Students must have practiced the craft of analog drawing that enables them to explain form and space at a basic level. The student must be able to use drawing as a method in creative processes at several levels and have practiced an analytical view for form composition and image construction.

Project assignments, lectures and individual guidance. Lectures will present fundamental elements, alongside process-dependent in-class instruction. The course is based on a combination of one's own experience together with instruction. Personal experience will be an especially important component of workmanship skills (free-hand drawing) for broadening an understanding of the form and aesthetic aspects of the subject. There will be in-class reviews of project assignments. Students are strongly urged to participate in evaluation of their own projects.
